Contribution

In the broadcasting world, contribution means exchanges and communication between studios, broadcasters or production sites.

For these reasons the contribution networks and links must generally be highly reliable and transport high quality audio or video to ensure that primary content is not altered. Delay is also often an issue especially for duplex transmissions where low delay is needed to ease communication between participants. Contribution connections are generally one-to-one exchange but may also be sometime one-to-many.

Delivery to listeners and viewer is called distribution.
